Also in September 2003, after our visits to Cambodia and Vietnam, Mariko and I made a trip to Australia.  We were joined there by our good friends from back home, Ken and Kim.  Despite the multitude of deadly animals (that the Australians seem exceptionally and eerily proud of), we can't wait to go back.  From the fabulous weather, outdoor lifestyle, great food and amazing sites and wildlife, Australia is well worth the long trip.

This is the Australian native kookabura (yes, the bird) and no, its wings haven't been clipped.
